A former Southwest Airlines pilot has been charged in Maryland federal court with indecent exposure for allegedly committing a ‘lewd act’ with his genital during a flight last year. 

Michael Haak was the pilot in command of the plane during a flight from Philadelphia to Orlando, Florida, according to a one-page filing in federal district court in Maryland.

According to the document obtained by DailyMail.com, which was dated Friday, Haak exposed his genitals in unspecified acts that began, continued and ended while flight 6607 on August 10 was in the air over multiple federal districts, including Maryland.

The document did not reveal the circumstances and who might have witnessed the incident.

A spokesperson for the US Attorney’s Office for the District of Maryland on Monday declined to divulge additional details concerning Haak’s case. 

He was charged with lewd, indecent or obscene act, which is a misdemeanor punishable by up to 90 days in prison and a $500 fine.  

A Southwest spokeswoman said Haak left the airline before the company became aware of the incident. Since learning of it, she said, Southwest cooperated with investigators.

‘Southwest Airlines takes all matters related to workplace conduct very seriously, with a well-defined policy and reporting process for harassment, sexual harassment, discrimination, and retaliation claims,’ the airline spokesperson said in a statement to DailyMail.com. 

‘Our corporate Culture is built upon treating others with mutual respect and dignity, and the events alleged in this situation are inconsistent with the behavior that we require of our Employees.’ 

According to a LinkedIn account associated with Haak, he served as a captain at Southwest Airlines.
