YouTube sensation ‘AngryDad’ has revealed he is battling aggressive prostate cancer – as he shared a very important message for Australian men.

Mark Orval, who became an internet celebrity for videos showing his reaction to his sons’ pranks, shared the devastating diagnosis with his more than 155,000 Instagram followers on Thursday.

‘My life motto has and always will be about honesty, so as I go about my life I can’t be fake … so right now when someone asks me how you going I am not going to say “I’m fine” because I’m not,’ he wrote.

YouTube sensation Mark Orval, aka ‘AngryDad’ (pictured), has revealed he has been diagnosed with aggressive prostate cancer

‘Several weeks ago I got the call you regret from your GP, concerned over blood test results to do with your prostate. Sadly the events that have unfolded since have confirmed I have an aggressive prostate cancer.’

Orval said further tests were needed to determine if the cancer has spread beyond his prostate and which treatment plan would be most suitable.

He urged other men to get regular check ups after he missed one last year.

‘Whilst this is a very private matter I feel the immediate need to share this as a message to ALL men that are at risk of this disease to GET TESTED,’ he said.

‘I regrettably missed my annual test last year due to COVID and whilst that now doesn’t matter and can’t change things, it highlights the importance of regular tests.’

The diagnosis comes just months after Orval lost his mother to cancer.

‘This isn’t about sympathy, rather it’s about highlighting the reality of life as I am not the first and won’t be the last to face a life challenge,’ he continued.

‘And believe me I will hit this harder than I have ever hit anything in my life!’

Orval is a former Collingwood player who played in the Victorian Football League from 1987 to 1988.

His career ended abruptly after seven games when he suffered a foot injury.

The Melbourne father rose to social media fame in 2015 after his sons Dylan and Mitchell started filming themselves pranking him, with their YouTube channel now boasting more than 256,000 subscribers.
