Young man is electrocuted while working during Queensland’s raging storms

  • Man was found dead at a property in Upper Caboolture on the Sunshine Coast
  • Queensland Workplace Health and Safety is investigating non-suspicious death
  • Death occurred during torrential rain battering all of southeast Queensland

A young man has been electrocuted while working through torrential rain in Southeast Queensland.

Paramedics rushed to a property on corner of Darley Road and Thyme Court in  Upper Caboolture on the Sunshine Coast about 8pm on Tuesday.

However, when they arrived they found the man was already dead.

Police later said his death was not suspicious and handed over the investigation to Queensland Workplace Health and Safety.

Several crews from power company Energex were also on site to help make the area safe for investigators and to remove the body.

The road was still closed at 10pm and rivers redirected around the area.

Rain is still battering all of Southeast Queensland as the rest of the east coast is also lashed by wild weather.
