Woolworths shopper is left FUMING after grocery delivery included ‘excessive’ amount of plastic bags: ‘I won’t be using this service again’

  • A NSW woman got a grocery delivery from Woolies that was bizarrely packed
  •  She ordered 80 items, which were packed using an unbridled number of 27 bags
  • Others complained of the supermarket’s unnecessary plastic bag wastage

A Woolworths customer has been left fuming after being given an ‘excessive’ amount of plastic bags in her delivery.

The NSW woman took to social media on Thursday saying she had received 27 plastic bags to hold just 80 items.

‘That averages out at just under three items per bag,’ she said.

She also shared a picture of two boxes of cereal she ordered, claiming they had been in alone in separate bags for some bizarre reason.

‘These two items (weighing 500g each) were in separate bags and were the only thing in those particular bags,’ she captioned the image.

The woman also complained about the driver, claiming he wasn’t on time.

She said she had cancelled her subscription and ‘won’t be using this service again’.

Her post sparked a response from a Woolworths representative, who asked for more details.

This isn’t the first time the supermarket giant has been slammed for its plastic bag use.

A customer from Adelaide recently posted about how items he purchased for delivery were packed in one bag each.

‘Got our delivery on Friday and this is how it was bagged – it’s a clear waste of resources and bags,’ the shopper said on the Woolworths Facebook page.

Woolworths representatives were quick to respond and apologise to the customers.

‘We’re sorry to see the way your delivery order was packed,’ one representative wrote.
