Horror as a man is stabbed in front of families at an Easter show as two boys, aged 17, are arrested

Two teenagers have been charged after a man was stabbed in front of horrified onlookers at Sydney’s second largest Easter fair.

Officers were called to the Fairfield Easter Show in Sydney’s west about 5.30pm on Saturday amid reports a man had been stabbed.

The victim, a 20-year-old man, was found with multiple stab wounds.

He was taken to Liverpool Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

Police will allege two 17-year-old boys spoke with the man at the fair before punching and stabbing him, then fleeing the scene.

One of the teens was arrested at Cabramatta Police Station about 8.45pm on Sunday, April 4, while a second teenager was arrested at a home in St Johns Park a short time later.

Each of the boys were charged with one count of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

They were refused bail and are expected to appear before a children’s court on Monday, April 5.  

The Fairfield Easter Show is Sydney’s largest Easter celebration outside of the official Royal Easter Show, and runs from April 1 to April 5.

The fair featured amusement park rides, reptile shows, an animal farm, show bags and a variety of food stalls.
