‘God bless from Australia’: Scott Morrison pays tribute to Prince Philip – and says the Queen’s beloved husband ’embodied a generation we will never see again’

Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison has led the tributes to Prince Philip after he died at the age of 99 by saying the Duke of Edinburgh ’embodied a generation’ which would never be seen again.

The Queen on Friday announced with ‘deep sorrow’ the death of her husband Prince Philip – who spent his final days at Windsor Castle after a 28-night stay in hospital.

‘God bless from all here in Australia,’ Mr Morrison said on Friday evening. 

‘Australians send our love and deepest condolences to her Majesty and all the Royal family.

‘The Commonwealth family joins together in sorrow and thanksgiving for the loss and life of Prince Philip.’ 

Prince Philip visited Australia on more than 20 occasions.
