The court was told the first incident, involving Marshall and his girlfriend, happened in December 2020 when the pair had been drinking.

Marshall confronted his partner and accused her of talking to another man after reading her messages, the Birmingham Mail reported.

The court heard he threatened her with boiling hot oil, before grabbing her by the throat and pinning her against a wall.

He then threw her to the ground. His victim suffered a cut after hitting her head.

While police investigated Marshall following the incident with his girlfriend, the 30-year-old was in the company of his former partner, who is also the mother of his son, while at a friend’s house in February.

After storming out of the property, Marshall threw his former partner to the ground and punched her as she lay on the street, leaving her unconscious.

The court heard his victim suffered nerve damage in the incident.

Judge Simon Carr said: ‘You’ve been before the courts numerous times for violence against women.

‘The first assault I accept a verbal argument escalated.

‘You placed your hands around her throat and struck her with considerable force, as well as threatening her with hot oil.’

Marshall was jailed for 30 months and restraining orders were also put in place to protect the victims.
