An adorable corgi has been caught mimicking the sound of a tornado warning siren as it was being tested.

One-year-old Scout can be heard howling in reply to the severe weather warning system he may have mistaken for another dog.

The footage was recorded in Rochester, Minnesota during the annual test of the state’s storm warning system.

In the clip, Scout is seen gazing out of a window of his home when the tornado siren starts blaring.

The youngster however has never heard the sound before, and so is intrigued by the siren which could be mistaken for another animal’s call.

Scout then lets out two little howls in attempt to mimic the sound.

‘Scout is a 1 year old Corgi living in Rochester MN,’ his owner said. ‘We frequently have tornado sirens drills here and yesterday he heard them for the first time!

‘He thought he would try to copy them and he did a pretty good job I’d say!

‘Scout is a funny corgi with lots of personality and spunk.’

Tornado siren testing came last week for Rochester as Olmsted County took part in the national Severe Weather Awareness Week.

Sirens normally sound for about three minutes, it is very rare to keep the sirens sounding for the entire warning.

Minnesota has suffered from notable storms in the past, with the last set of devastating thunderstorms in 2010 downing trees and power lines and damaging buildings.
