A Queens mother has been charged with two counts of murder in connection with the brutal deaths of her two six-week-old twins, whose bodies were found in her apartment Thursday – one with a knife sticking out of his head.
Danezja Kilpatrick, 23, was charged less than 24 hours after officers with the New York Police Department discovered the six-week-old twins, a boy and a girl, inside the Woodside Houses on 51st Street and 32nd Avenue.
Police first found the infant boy – Dakota Bentley – inside a bedroom crib with a knife sticking out of his head, the Daily News reported, citing police sources.
When asked about the second child, the young mother indicated that the girl – named Dallis Bently – was under the sink, which is where police found her wrapped in a pink blanket, sources said.
Kilpatrick has been charged with two counts of murder, two counts of acting in a manner injurious to a child and one count of criminal possession of a weapon.

A relative had requested a wellness check to the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) building in Woodside after the 23-year-old woman gave evasive answers when asked about the babies’ whereabouts, according to a police source.
Sources said the mother appeared agitated when police arrived to the scene, the New York Post reported.
‘I do not want them,’ she reportedly told arriving officers, according to the New York Daily News.

Police recovered a knife at the scene and brought Kilpatrick in for questioning.
The Administration for Children’s Services is also investigating the death of the twins.
Neighbors said the woman had just moved into the apartment last month, according to the Post.
‘I’m so sad. I’m shook. I’m heartbroken,’ Janelis Perez, 31, told the Post.
A neighbor said she hadn’t heard anything she considered suspicious.
