Shocking footage shows angry motorists confronting a bloodied van driver who left a half mile trail of destruction – after smashing into four cars in less than three minutes.

The white van man was tracked down by members of the public after he ploughed into several vehicles in Bordesley Green, Birmingham, yesterday, April 20.

The first crash took place outside a Texaco garage with the van driver seen fleeing the scene despite his badly damaged vehicle and leaving a bumper lying in the middle of the road.

It is not clear what caused the motorist to crash. West Midlands Police have been approached for comment.

A car passenger can be heard saying in disbelief: ‘What’s he trying to do, is he trying to get off? He’s trying to get off, he’s getting off, he’s got off. Oh my God.’

Moments later, the car filming the footage approaches another smashed up motor while the driver exclaims: ‘He’s crashed into somebody else, no way.’

The man asks one stunned bystander: ‘Is it a white van? He just crashed into two people.’

Somebody off camera replies: ‘Yeah, I think somebody is hurt bro.’

The car then drives on just a few metres further along the road only to discover the van had yet again crashed, this time into an Audi.

One web user commented: ‘I saw this going on, I’m glad the police arrived. One crash is bad enough but how he’s managed that god only knows.’

Another added: ‘Looks like he should have gone to Specsavers. Britain’s worst driver right there.’

A third said: ‘He’s got some nerve trying to get away from four crashes, or whatever it was. Brummies won’t sand for that, no wonder they chased him down.’

Another person wrote: ‘To try and get away from the first one is cheeky, the second one is audacious but to run away from three crash scenes is just taking the mickey.’
