Australian man, 44, is hospitalised with a rare blood clotting condition a week after getting the AstraZeneca vaccine – as more countries suspend use of the jab 

An Australian man is in hospital suffering from a rare blood clotting condition after receiving the AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine.

The 44-year-old got the jab on March 22 and later presented to a Melbourne hospital suffering fever and abdominal pain.

He also found to have blood clots in his abdomen and a very low platelet count, prompting concerns from doctors.

Chief health officers around Australia are urgently reviewing the man’s case, with an update to be given on Friday afternoon, The Australian reported.
