Matt Hancock gets emotional as he declares he is 'deeply in love' with girlfriend Gina Coladangelo

TALK OF THE TOWN: Matt Hancock gets emotional as he declares he is ‘deeply in love’ with girlfriend Gina Coladangelo in upcoming podcast

He caused a political sensation when he was caught kissing his aide in breach of Covid rules – but Matt Hancock has told a new podcast he is ‘deeply in love’.

The ex-Health Secretary’s affair with Gina Coladangelo was thrust into the spotlight after CCTV footage emerged of the pair in his office.

He quit the Government and left his wife of 15 years.

Now the dust is settling, he is opening up about the romance.

My pictures show Matt and Gina at the recording of a yet-to-be released podcast, The Diary of a CEO with Dragons’ Den star Steven Bartlett, which was recorded a couple of weeks ago.

My mole tells me Matt, 43, became very emotional talking about falling in love and said it was ‘totally out of his control’.

Matt said it happened quite suddenly, despite knowing Gina since university at Oxford.

He conceded it had been the ‘most difficult year of his life’.

But Gina was sitting behind the cameras offering loving and supportive glances throughout.

New moon rises for earl

Is the new young aristocracy throwing off convention when it comes to naming their heirs?

I only ask because the Earl of Bradford’s second son, Harry Bridgeman, has named his new son Moon.

Mind you Harry, 39 (an accomplished break-dancer I am assured) and his wife Lucinda have form for this: they called their first daughter River and their second Sunny.

‘No comment about the name,’ barks the earl, who confirms Moon is his first grandson.

Grandmother Jo says it’s an ‘interesting choice’.

He was born into a family of bargees, but Rolling Stone Ronnie Wood, 74, made it to Kensington Palace on Thursday, as Prince William’s guest.

Ronnie was showing William his art – and one work in particular: his charcoal drawing of Prince Philip, finished shortly before Philip died in April.
