A 20-year-old man has been threatened by a gang brandishing knives before being thrown out of his Volkswagen Golf in a terrifying carjacking.
The man was sitting in his white hatchback in Toongabbie, in Sydney’s west, at about 12.15am on Wednesday when three unknown men armed with knives approached the car.
The trio of assailants forced the man out of the vehicle before speeding off along Junia Street.
The man was not injured and fled on foot before reaching home and calling police.

At about 2am police spotted the car travelling along Rossvale Street, prompting a pursuit.
The police chase was terminated shortly afterwards in Blacktown due to the manner of driving.
The armed men were described as having thin to medium builds, and their faces covered with bandanas.
Officers from the Blacktown Police Area Command established a crime scene.
Investigations are continuing and anyone with information about the vehicle or their drivers is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
