A 30-year-old man has died and another is said to be injured after gunshots were heard in Sheffield last night.  

The man, 30, was pronounced dead at the scene by ambulance staff after emergency services were called to Clough Road at 9.40pm last night.

A second 31-year-old man also suffered gunshot wounds and is being treated at hospital.

A spokesperson for the force said: ‘Police attended the scene and discovered a 30-year-old man with life-threatening injuries consistent with firearms discharge.

‘He was very sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.

‘A second 31-year-old man suffered minor injuries consistent with firearms discharge. He was taken to hospital via ambulance to receive treatment.

‘An investigation has been launched to find those responsible.’

Police remain at the scene today and a cordon has been put in place while officers conduct their enquiries.

According to The Sheffield Star, locals reported hearing what they believed to be gunshots last night.
