Hannity says Biden's State of the Union a shambles delivered by someone with 'steep mental decline'

Sean Hannity derided Joe Biden’s first State of the Union address as ‘an unmitigated, predictable disaster’ which did little to assuage American’s fears of crime in big cities and inflation, and was ‘seemingly written by a kid in kindergarten’.

The Fox News host said that Biden, 79, showed signs of ‘a steep mental decline’.

Hannity criticized the president for failing to acknowledge the deaths of 13 U.S. troops in Afghanistan in August, and said he had no answer for the continued problems of COVID-19.

Biden’s speech, Hannity said, was ‘filled with smoke and mirrors’ and ‘detached from reality’.

‘You might’ve noticed something interesting,’ said Hannity.

‘Biden did not mention any accomplishments.

‘None whatsoever. Because there are none.

‘A barrel of oil tonight is at $107 per barrel.

‘Inflation is at a 40 year high. Crime is spiking. We still have open borders. We still have record-setting COVID deaths. No real mention at all of Afghanistan where he abandoned Americans.’

He added: ‘If the world was looking for any American leadership they didn’t get it from Joe Biden.

‘The speech defined America last, not America first.’

The Fox anchor was unimpressed with Biden’s declarations about Ukraine and the invasion launched by Vladimir Putin, arguing that Biden himself had created the problem by failing to invest in American energy independence.

‘In spite of his war crimes, the U.S. continues to import 500,000 barrels of oil every single day from Russia,’ Hannity claimed.

The U.S. does indeed import oil from Russia – about 3 percent of the nation’s imports, at around 200,000 barrels of crude oil a day.

‘We can produce this oil and gas right here at home,’ claimed Hannity.

‘And by the way, he inherited America energy independence and a net exporter of energy.

‘We could be helping our NATO and western European allies.

‘But Biden put a new pause on oil and gas in America.’

He said Biden’s comments about Ukraine ‘were totally impotent and meaningless,’ adding: ‘Frankly I would have rather heard from President Zelensky, who has shown nothing but courage and bravery in Ukraine.’

Hannity spent much of his time attacking Biden for failing to help the average American’s bottom line.

He played a clip of Biden repeating his campaign promise that no one earning under $400,000 a year would pay more taxes, and said that the former Delaware senator has ‘been telling that lie since he became president.’

Hannity continued: ‘According to the analysts, Biden’s spending and tax plans will definitely impact those making under $400,000 per year. And that is not even factoring in Biden inflation, which is impacting the poor and middle-class the most in this country.

‘That’s right, you pay more to fill up your car, pay more to heat and cool your home, you pay more for every product to buy in every store you go to.’

Inflation in the United States is currently at a 40-year high, rising at an annual rate of 7.5 percent over the year through January.

‘Joe’s genius solution to inflation is just to spend more money and encourage businesses to lower their costs,’ Hannity said, pointing out that Biden told businesses they had to reduce their costs rather than wages.

‘Okay. Thanks for the help,’ Hannity said.

The veteran conservative pointed out that more Americans died of COVID under Biden than under Donald Trump, and asked why the president ‘ran out of tests, monoclonal antibodies, antivirals when we needed them the most, at Christmas time’.

He reserved some of his fiercest criticism for Biden’s handling of the U.S.-Mexico border.

‘He failed miserably, and he failed to mention that tonight,’ said Hannity.

‘Border patrol made a record 1.9 million arrests at the border under Biden.

‘Of course we had process and release.

‘No more stay in Mexico. No more building a wall.

‘We have no idea how many millions were not apprehended – but we do know that around a half a million illegal immigrants were released into the U.S.

‘And they were given free transportation all over the country and preferential treatment.

‘They didn’t need COVID test.

‘There is no vaccine mandate for illegal immigrants.’

GOP Rep. Lauren Boebert HECKLES Biden over service members killed in Kabul during his remarks about son Beau

GOP Rep. Lauren Boebert sparked boos inside the Capitol as she heckled Joe Biden when he talked about the death of his son Beau.

The Colorado congresswoman interrupted the President to blame him for the deaths of 13 American service members during the chaotic Afghanistan withdrawal last August when he talked about the flag-draped coffins of those who had served their country.

Biden was at the time recalling how his eldest son died of brain cancer and pushed for more legislation to help service members exposed to burn pits.

‘When they came home, many of the world’s fittest and best-trained warriors were never the same. Headaches. Numbness. Dizziness. A cancer that would put them in a flag-draped coffin. I know,’ Biden said

‘You put them in there, 13 of them,’ Boebert appeared to shout. Kamala Harris seemed to grimace but Biden carried on his speech.

‘One of those soldiers was my son, Major Beau Biden,’ Biden went on. ‘We don’t know for sure if a burn pit was the cause of his brain cancer, or the diseases of so many of our troops, but I’m committed to finding out everything we can.

Boebert later tweeted about her outburst and said she couldn’t ‘stay silent’.

‘When Biden said flag draped coffins I couldn’t stay silent. I told him directly he did it. He put 13 in there. Our heroic servicemen and women deserve so much better.’

Boebert was also heard chanting Build the Wall with Marjorie Taylor Greene when he discussed immigration policies and at one point the pair turned their backs.

With the State of the Union back to a full crowd, Boebert walked into the chamber with a ‘Drill Baby Drill’ dress on.

The congresswoman made the statement in support of increased drilling for petroleum and gas. She has consistently pushed for energy independence.
