Shocking footage has emerged of toddler and grandmother left injured after three fighting bulls smashed their way into a garden in northern India.

A young woman escaped unharmed after leaping out of the way during the ruckus in Rewari in the state of Haryana.

CCTV showed the family of five women and small child chatting in their garden on Friday, February 18, with cups of tea, unaware of the approaching danger.

Outside, a trio of mature bulls were rampaging through the street, locking horns as they crashed into walls.

The young woman spotted a fleeing bovine and was alerted to the marauding mammals.

She quickly moved the child out of the way and dashed over to shut the metal gates leading to the yard where the family sat.

Within a second, one of the beasts came crashing through the gate as the three-way bullfight descended into carnage.

The bull blasted through the flimsy lock with his powerful frame, missing the young woman with just moments to spare.

The sheer force of the blow threw the nearby toddler and his grandmother to the ground, despite them being several feet away.

The pair were taken to hospital but were not seriously hurt according to local sources.

There are over 70 million bulls on the market in India, according to the Economic Times, along with well over 200million cows and evidence suggests that figures are growing.

The animals play an important role in the country’s religious beliefs and are a common sight in the street, where many are allowed to stray near their owners’ homes.

Hindi News reports that 576 stray animals have been caught on the streets of Rehani and sent to the local Gaushala – a centre where cows are cared for. The problem is recognised by the city’s council.

On July 8 last year, a similar attack made headlines when footage captured a crazed bull storming into a home in India, causing workers to flee as the confused bovine wrecked their house.

CCTV from outside showed the animal fighting another bull in the streets of the Abohar District, in Punjab, before he decided to flee the battle.

As the other bull chased him, the black-and-white bovine ran into a nearby house where five men could be seen working.

A recording from inside the home showed the group quickly fleeing the scene, some faster than others, as the bull smashed through the room.

After a few seconds, the crazed bull was seen carefully making his way out of the house with its rival nowhere to be found.

Moments after the bull departed, the men were seen re-entering the house to try to clean things up as other residents stopped by to help.
