  • He is seen running toward the 10-foot fence and scrambling to the top of it  
  • Once his owner shouts, ‘Hey!’, he immediately drops down and runs to her  

A cheeky rescue puppy left his owner shocked when he managed to jump to the top of a 10-foot barrier she had put up in the garden. 

Hank, a 10-month-old rescue puppy, was caught on camera eyeing up the new fence in his owner’s backyard last Friday in Pickens, South Carolina.  

He is seen inspecting the new fence before running backwards to get a good amount of distance for a run-up.

He leaps into the air and clings on to the fence while using his back legs to scramble up even higher

Hank then looks upward toward the barrier he is trying to get over before he starts to run toward it. 

He leaps into the air and clings on to the fence while using his back legs to scramble up even higher. 

Once he is at the top he hangs on to the edge of the fence and seems at a loss as to his next move. 

His owner then shouts, ‘Hey!’, and Hank immediately drops straight down from the fence and trots towards his owner. 

The owner adds: ‘What the hell dude?’

She said: ‘Will, my fiancé, and I adopted him from the Pickens humane society in July 2020. 

‘Our older dog, Hammy who is five years old, was getting lonely after we returned to work following the Covid shutdown. 

‘We decided it was time to get him a companion. We quickly realized the pair were so happy and playful, we needed to get them a better fence so they could spend more time playing freely outside.

‘The chain-link fence we originally had wasn’t cutting it and we were worried they would get out. 

‘So we saved up and get them a new privacy fence so we didn’t have to worry about them escaping or getting hurt. 

‘It looks like Hank had other ideas and likes to test his limits.’
