Total WHITEOUT? Dash cam footage captures road accident on a VERY snowy Alaskan highway as smoke from the wheels of crashed vehicles engulfs car

  • Footage from February 16 in Fairbanks, Alaska, captures the road accident
  • The dashcam shows the motorist driving fast despite the reduced visibility
  • As the car disappears into a huge cloud of smoke, there is then a massive crash
  • Other drivers are seen checking on each other immediately after the collision

This is the shocking moment a speeding motorist caused a huge crash on a snowy highway.

Dashcam footage from February 16 shows the dramatic scene unfolding on the Johansen Expressway in Fairbanks, Alaska.

Instead of slowing down when there is a decrease in visibility, the driver carries on speeding, and crashes into other cars.

The motorist’s dashcam films the speed limit of 55 on the expressway at the beginning of the clip.

They drive past two other cars who are in the other lane and seem to be travelling much slower.

Visibility on the road seems to be very poor but the driver carries on powering along the left-hand lane at a fast speed.

As they carry on driving, they disappear into a huge cloud of smoke caused by other skidding cars.

Eventually, the dashcam shows that the driver cannot see anything in front of them as visibility has become so bad.

But the motorist does not slow down and the dashcam captures their car hitting other vehicles.

The video ends with the driver pulling back into the left-hand lane and continuing their journey.

In the comments of the YouTube clip, people slammed the driver.

One person wrote: ‘Anytime you have a dramatic decrease in visibility, you need to slow down!!!!’

Another person wrote: ‘Call me conservative but my first instinct would be to slow right down if suddenly I had zero visibility.’

Commenters were in agreement that the motorist was going too fast for the conditions and were left shocked by the footage.
