Boris Johnson admits vaccine passports for overseas travel will be a 'factor of life'

Boris Johnson stated that coronavirus vaccine certificates will not be needed in the UK to attend outdoor hospitality when restrictions are lifted on April 12 or indoor hospitality on May 17. However, the Prime Minister added that vaccine passports are under consideration for international travel.

Mr Johnson said: “On Monday on [April] 12th, shops will be open, outdoor pub beer gardens, outdoor restaurants and so on.

“You do not need any kind of certificate to go then, you will not need anything on May 17 when we open up indoor hospitality.

“What of course we are looking at is what several other countries are looking at, and that is the role of vaccination passports for overseas travel.

“I think that is going to be a factor of life, probably, a lot of other countries are looking at that.”
