Punters wanting to snag a free pint will need to purchase a beach clean up kit designed to encourage residents to pick up waste from their local area.

The Take 3 Beach Clean-Up Kits will be for sale at four 4 Pines breweries across New South Wales and Victoria for $32 to celebrate World Earth Day this Thursday.

Each clean-up kit provides all the supplies needed to safely clean-up at a local beach, and will earn patrons three free pints worth $36 to share with mates.

4 Pines breweries in Manly, Newport, Brookvale and Charlestown will be selling the kits to NSW residents, in addition to the Torquay venue in Victoria.

The brewery has pledged $25,000 to help Take 3 reach their goal of removing 10 million pieces of rubbish from oceans and waterways by the end of this year.

Australia consumes an estimated 3.5million tonnes of plastic every year, with only 9% of the total plastic produced being recycled.

A staggering 79% of plastic ends up in landfill or the environment while the other 12% is burned.

Chief Brewer from 4 Pines Chris Wilcock said it was all about encouraging people to take small steps to improve their local environment.

‘As a sustainable and community-minded brewery, being Take 3’s first official beach clean-up kit stockist is a further step in the right direction to tackle plastic pollution, Mr Wilcock said.

‘Our venues have been plastic straw free since 2016, and we keep implementing ways to reduce waste across our breweries and supply chain with the aim of becoming totally plastic and waste free.’

Take 3 CEO Sarah Beard added that the funds from the partnership would have a direct impact on ongoing efforts to keep the water free of plastics.

‘4 Pines is committed to doing better for our planet and wanted to find a way to not only join our global movement but ensure the partnership had both an action and an impact, two things we are passionate about at Take 3’, Ms Beard said.

‘It not only allows us to reach a new audience but also helps inspire others to take up the challenge and Take 3 for the Sea.’
