'Make your own decision' Professor tells those who are 30 or 31 on AstraZeneca vaccine

“Based on the available data and evidence, JCVI has advised that it is preferable for adults aged under 30 with no underlying conditions to be offered an alternative to the AstraZeneca vaccine where available,” said Wei Shen Lim, COVID-19 Chair for JCVI. He went on to say it is up to the country to make its own decisions whether to give the vaccine out.

Professor Wei Shen Lim said: “Every country has to their own decision regarding what is best for their own population and that takes into account the kind of disease we have in our country, the size of the wave, the risk of a next wave occurring, the amount of vaccines we have.

“Obviously the values of our own people – whether we want to accept the vaccine or not.

“I believe that every country will, in the end, have to make their own decision regarding the risk and benefit.
