Labour shamed: Starmer's own council is one of worst in UK for recycling

Labour run Barrow-in-Furness was the worst council in the country for recycling rubbish, sending just 18.8 percent of rubbish collected to be recycled, reused or composted, way below the national average of 43 percent.

Labour’s Newham council was the second worst in the country, sending a paltry 20.3 percent of rubbish to be recycled.

Of the twenty worst councils in the country for recycling, 15 are Labour run, including Sir Keir’s own Camden council, who send just 25.9 percent of rubbish for recycling.

Amanda Milling, Conservative Party Co-Chairman, said: “These figures show that Labour councils are the worst at recycling your rubbish.

Keir Starmer talks a good game about going green but it seems like Labour councils, including his own one in Camden, just aren’t listening. It’s only Conservative councils and councillors that can be trusted to deliver good quality local services while keeping taxes low.”
