Ms Truss will say that solving the dispute over the post-Brexit trade deal will allow the UK and the EU to focus on the ongoing crisis between Russia and Ukraine. The Foreign Secretary, who will travel to Brussels, for the talks said in a statement: “It is important we all work together to preserve peace and stability in Northern Ireland, allowing us to focus on building a stronger relationship and focus on external issues, not least the situation in Eastern Europe and standing up to Russian aggression.”
