Brexit LIVE: 'Desperate, patronising!' Fury at EU claim UK 'didn't understand' Leave vote

In an EU report on the Article 50 process, MEPs suggested they could have won the vote for Remain if they had campaigned and warned the “often misled” British voters about the risks of leaving. The British public has met these claims with fury, with many taking to social media to express their frustration. On Twitter, @sandieshoes said: “Britons didn’t know what they were doing when they backed Brexit, says European Parliament, British voters didn’t know the risks of leaving. They haven’t learned a thing have they. Talk about patronising.” @Hole_Andrea said: “It is good to do business on our terms with not just EU but the rest of the world, unfortunately I think EU will sacrifice more than we have.” Meanwhile, @BryanKDornan simply responded with: “I knew exactly what I was voting for” and @Support_SMART branded the EU Parliament comments as “desperate and patronising”.
