AstraZeneca vaccine: Reports of blood clots double in weeks – but 'benefits outweigh risks

UK Government data revealed reports of blood clot cases increased from 79 to 168 and deaths from 19 to 32.

Meanwhile, the chances of getting a blood clot from having the vaccine increased from one in 250,000 to one in 126,582, according to the reporting.

But an MHRA spokesman said: “On the basis of this ongoing review, the advice remains that the benefits of the vaccine outweigh the risks in the majority of people.”
