Ben Habib likened the ongoing crisis between Ukraine and Russia to the situation in Northern Ireland, noting that the NI protocol has resulted in over 800 EU laws being settled in Northern Ireland. Mr Habib argues that this will also be the case if Russia prevails in Ukraine, adding that the only difference is “we bowed to the EU without a single shot being fired.” The former politician urged Ms Truss to use the situation in Ukraine to her advantage and strike back at the EU while it has been weakened by Putin’s sanctions.
