An indigenous AFL star has again been forced to call out a disgusting online troll who posted a vile comment on a photo of his twin boys.

West Coast Eagles star Liam Ryan threatened to hurt the troll who commented on a photo of his two-year-old sons at training.

The adorable photo showed the boys holding a Channel Seven microphone, and was uploaded to the network’s AFL Instagram account on Sunday.

‘Liam Ryan’s twin boys have a future in broadcasting #Roaming Ryan,’ the sweet photo was captioned.

The post was flooded with heartwarming comments before it was marred by an ugly slur.

‘Microphone today, bong tomorrow,’ the troll commented.

The nasty comment sparked a furious response from Ryan who called out the keyboard warrior.

‘Motherf**ker, talk about my babies like this, I’ll f**king hurt ya, ya f**king maggot,’ he replied.

The comment also sparked outrage from the public, which jumped to Ryan’s defence.

‘That’s just straight up disgusting, have some respect,’ one fan wrote.

Another added: ‘Terrible comment here in reference to innocent kids’.

The Eagles rallied around Ryan, his wife Evana Hansen and their three children.

‘These kinds of posts continue to be published on social media is both abhorrent and frustrating,’ a club statement read.

‘As a club we stand with our Indigenous players, community and members in standing against this divisive and reprehensible behaviour.

‘We will support Liam, Evana and their family through this incident which again has hurt them deeply.’

AFL boss Gil McLachlan and EGM Inclusion & Social Policy Tanya Hosch also released a joint statement.

‘Liam Ryan is one of the most talented & exciting players in our game. Part of his pride & strength comes from his family and the majority of us appreciate and respect him, his family and culture,’ it read.

‘We stand with Liam and his family and as a code are extremely grateful he is part of the footy family and community. The hurt racism causes runs deeper than the individuals involved.’

It’s not the first time Ryan and his young family have been subjected to vile abuse from keyboard warriors.

In June 2020,  a troll commented a picture of a monkey’s face on a photo of Ryan’s children, sparking an angry response from his wife.

‘Here were f**king go again. Attack my babies, but noooo racism doesn’t happen in Australia,’ Ms Hansen wrote in response.

A fan was also slapped with two-year ban after he labelled Ryan a ‘monkey’ online in 2019.
