Watch the sickening moment a man with possible links to the Proud Boys calls a young black woman the n-word before punching her straight in the face.

Andrew Walls, 26, handed himself in after a video emerged of the thug calling the 23-year-old Cameron Morgan racial slurs before hitting her in Akron on Sunday night.

Cameron’s father, a high-school English teacher and author, said on social media that his daughter was walking in Highland Square with friends before she was attacked.

The assailant turns around to attack another bystander before two men jump in to stop him.

The video shows Cameron with a split lip after the attack, which the father said was unprovoked.

After the video ended, the attacker dragged Carmen into the street by her hair, her father told Huff Post.

Cameron’s father David, a former sports journalist who changed career paths to become an English teacher, said his daughter could barely use her jaw to eat properly.

‘Please! I need to press charges! I’m heartbroken and sick to my stomach,’ said Cameron’s father on social media, reaching out for help with identifying the man.

After the post, online sleuths found a photo posted by Record-Courier, showing a strikingly similar man also named Andrew Walls.

The Record-Courier caption, along with a Akron Beacon story from around the same time, name Walls as vice president of the Akron Canton of the Proud Boys, a far-right group which took part in the 2021 United States Capitol attack.

Akron police captain Dave Laughlin said they were aware of the images and were investigating any connection to the Proud Boys, but added they couldn’t say for certain he was a member.

‘It’s obviously an angle we’re pursuing to see if there’s any link to gang activity,’ Laughlin said.

After the attack, Walls was charged with assault and possessing a firearm while intoxicated, and Akron Police issued an arrest warrant on Sunday.

Walls handed himself in on Monday afternoon.

Council on American-Islamic Relations Cleveland executive director Julia Shearson called the assault ‘an act of racist hate’ and said it ‘must be prosecuted as such by law enforcement’.

She added: ‘As violent racism continues to rise nationwide, it is essential that incidents like this are taken seriously.’

Akron Municipal Court records show a second charge of assault was added.

Walls pleaded ‘not guilty’ to the charges, Akron Police told WKYC, which said that details of the attack were handed over to the FBI, as Walls may be facing federal hate crime charges.

The judge set a pretrial for March 11 at 9:30am during a virtual court session on Tuesday.
