People with the initials A, D and J took home more than a quarter of all division one Lotto games last year, Powerball officials have revealed as the draw reaches $20million.

The winning numbers in Thursday’s draw are 21, 34, 10, 16, 23, 14, 25 and the Powerball is 9.

No one scored the top prize, but there were three division two winners who each nabbed $140,955 and 58 people took home $4,455.50 in division three. 

Lotto officials also revealed that players with the first initial of J took home 11 per cent of all division one wins in 2020.

People whose first names start with A followed closely behind, taking home 8.2 per cent of the winning prize.

Players with the first initial D accounted for 8.4 per cent of big wins in the same year.

There were no winners with first names starting with X or U, and only one winner’s name started with O, Q, and Y.

Players in their 60s also scored one quarter of division one jackpots, while players in their 40s had one fifth of all wins.

Powerball has crowned six winners in 2021 who have pocketed a collection $200million in prize money. 

Thursday’s jackpot marks the fifth time this year that Powerball has risen to $20million.

The first $20million draw of the year was won by two players in January, from NSW and Qld.

No one has won the $20million in subsequent draws, resulting in the prize climbing higher instead.
