Sunshine Coast Buderim crash: Woman charged with stabbing murder


Woman, 29, is charged with murder after allegedly stabbing a 62-year-old man on a road moments before he was struck by a car

Police have charged a woman with murder after she allegedly stabbed a man moments before he was fatally struck by a car. 

After extensive investigations into a crash that occurred last year in Buderim, on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland Police charged the 29-year-old woman. 

The woman wascharged with one count of murder after she allegedly stabbed a 62-year-old man from Tewantin in Noosa.

Police allege the 29-year-old woman attacked the man on Stringybark Road about 2am on Saturday May 16 of last year. 

A spokesperson from Queensland Police said the 62-year-old man was fatally hit by a car about ten minutes after he was attacked. 

Police have said the driver of the vehicle is not connected with the initial incident. 

Emergency services transported the man to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital, where the man died shortly after arriving. 

The woman appeared in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on March 31, where she was refused bail and remanded in custody. 

The 29-year-old woman is due to appear in the same court on May 21.
