Three police officers have been injured in a vicious all-in brawl that erupted outside a popular Sydney nightclub over the weekend.

Dramatic footage captured a number of police officers struggling to contain rowdy patrons outside the MVP nightclub in the city’s CBD.

Officers were responding to reports a man had repeatedly punched and kicked another patron just before midnight on Saturday March 17.

The 25-year-old Yagoona man had already been removed from the club by security guards, but the trouble didn’t end there.

Shortly after officers arrived to the Pitt Street nightclub they experienced resistance from a crowd of disgruntled punters.

‘While officers were attempting to arrest the man, a number of other individuals became involved,’ NSW Police said.

‘The man then allegedly shoved a constable in the chest.’

One officer was allegedly punched in the face by a 22-year-old woman, while two other officers were shoved by patrons.

In a handheld video of the violent scuffle, one officer can be seen using pepper spray to ward off a female patron, who lies on the ground holding her face.

Police finally gained control of the crowd and were able to handcuff the Yagoona man, who had to be asked repeatedly to put his hands behind his back.

It took a team of nearly a dozen officers to place the man inside a police vehicle.

A total of five people were arrested on Saturday night with the assistance of the Public Order and Riot Squad.

The Yagoona man along with two other men and one woman were arrested and taken to Surry Hills Police Station.
