‘For those who don’t know Kyle had been swept in a rip yesterday afternoon at Coolum beach and search and rescue teams are still on the hunt,’ she wrote.

‘Please keep your loved ones close! We won’t stop till we find you, we love you endlessly.’

Surf Life Saving Queensland’s Sunshine Coast regional manager Aaron Purchase said crews spotted a body floating about 2pm on Monday.

A team of 20-25 Sunshine Coast Surf Lifesavers on jetskis, rescue boats, helicopter, drones, and vehicles joined efforts to locate the missing man.

Mr Purchase said despite the swell not being ‘too bad’, the recent rainfall meant crews had struggled with low visibility in the water, the Courier Mail reported.

The regional manager thanked the crews involved in the search for bringing closure to Kyle’s friends and family.

‘On behalf of Surf Lifesaving Queensland our condolences go out to his family and friends, it’s tragic at any time of the year, let alone on the eve of Easter,’ Mr Purchase said.

‘Our thoughts go out to his family and friends.’
