A man who waited four months during lockdown to visit his barber has left social media in stitches with the ‘worst haircut of his life’.
College student Andrew Riley, 20, from Glasgow, visited his local hairdresser in Bearsden on April 7 – two days after the salons were allowed to reopen across Scotland.
Mr Riley paid £12 for the cut and asked the barber for a mid-skin fade – a tapered cut that ends between the temple and ears.
However, he was furious when he ended up with a thick patch of hair on the top of his head, and bald sides.
Mr Riley, who is set to start a barbers’ course himself in August, took to Twitter to share the results of his new look.

However, the customer is less than impressed and replies: ‘Don’t think it will be mate as I will be taking my business elsewhere.’

Mr Riley has since said: ‘During the haircut, I had my doubts as I have done before but I thought I should trust the process as these guys are trained professionals.
‘I waited four months for the haircut and got hit with the worst one I’ve ever had in my life.’
Mr Riley chose not to complain to staff during his visit but promptly paid and left.
He said: ‘I was really angry and frustrated at my haircut, it ruined my whole day.
‘I decided to text the barber after to complain as I found their number on Facebook.’
The tweet has so far racked up 10,500 likes, with amusing reactions.
‘Surely you never paid for it,’ one person asked, to which Mr Riley replied: ‘Unfortunately I did, mate.’
‘Did he use hedge trimmers for that!,’ joked another fan of the look.
Mr Riley was not alone in feeling disappointed by a haircut.
Another Twitter user revealed they’d also not had a great experience, reportedly with the same barber.
‘Been in there before mate, they don’t even listen to what you ask for, they just decide themselves what they’re doing,’ they wrote.
Even a professional barber weighed in, adding: ‘Wow, this is unreal! I am a barber and this is nothing like a midway fade. This has been shaved like right up and not blended right at all.’
Mr Riley says he wasn’t expecting his post to go viral and is shocked at the response.
He added: ‘It’s blown up quite a bit on Twitter, which I wasn’t expecting and wasn’t the reason I posted it.’
