Scott Morrison was given the middle finger by an elderly passerby while delivering a speech at a South Australian festival.

An onlooker captured footage of a disgruntled man casually walking past Mr Morrison and flipping the bird just a metre from the PM’s face.

Mr Morrison appeared unfazed by the incident and continued on with his speech, while some audience members laughed and murmured.

The footage was uploaded to meme pages on social media, where some users described the mystery man as a ‘legend’.

The PM received a similar reception while attending the Eagles-Collingwood clash at Optus Stadium in Perth on Friday.

Mr Morrison was loudly booed by the huge home crowd when his face popped up on the stadium’s big screen.

He was seen in the stands with retired Liberal MP Mathias Cormann and Eagles chairman Russell Gibbs, looking stony-faced while commentators noted loud boos from Perth fans.

‘Nice reception. You wouldn’t like to be in that job and come to the footy would you?’ one announcer remarked.

The crowd of 54,159 was the biggest to attend an AFL match since the 2019 Grand Final.

The incident lit up social media after the match and into Saturday, with most apparently supporting the fan response.

The PM is not overly popular in WA, where Labor Premier Mark McGowan won a landslide victory last month and reduced the Liberals there to just two seats.
