‘Take away the propaganda’: School cleaner films herself ripping down Covid safe signage from a classroom wall – and boasts she’s been ‘doing it all year’

A furious school cleaner has filmed herself ripping down Covid-safe signage from a classroom wall, complaining the posters are ‘propaganda’.    

The Queensland Department of Education is investigating after the Sunshine Coast woman posted the videos to her Instagram account on Tuesday. 

A spokeswoman confirmed the woman worked as a cleaner at Yandina State School, a small country school in the Sunshine Coast North District.  

‘You know what, I’ve been doing this all f**king year at this school,’ the woman says as she pulls the laminated posters down.

The posters appear to give students tips on how to stay Covid safe, with one encouraging those that feel sick to tell their parents and not come to school. 

‘These are the last ones to go I think,’ the woman says. 

‘Let’s see if they notice, let’s see if they f***king notice. 

‘Into the bin with you, I’m f**king done with this.’ 

The videos were captioned ‘take away the propaganda’.

The Instagram user has described herself as an ‘artist, model, horsewoman, sometimes poet and massive day dreamer’ and a ‘Leo goddess’. 

Principal of Yadina State School Michael Cookman, told the Courier Mail he wasn’t in a position to address the matter.   

Queensland’s Department of Education said: ‘The department takes matters that may endanger the health and safety of students and staff very seriously.

‘Upon being made aware of the incidents (Tuesday) afternoon, the school has acted to replace any lost signage.

‘No further details can be provided due to privacy issues.’

The woman posted another video to her Instagram stories where she complained about people wearing masks in a supermarket. 

‘On my way out of the IGA, I purchased my stuff and I started walking and there were people like wearing masks,’ she said.

‘And I had a little rant at them, I couldn’t help myself. I’m like what are youse doing.’

The young woman said she called the masked shoppers ‘a bunch of f**king idiots’ but didn’t get any response.

The user has also shared posts from Instagram account Reignitedemocrazyaustralia – an anti-vaccination group. 

The account – which is followed by 12,600 people – recently posted ‘You can say NO’ in response to masks becoming mandatory across Queensland.  

Greater Brisbane is currently in lockdown that commenced at 5pm on Monday March 29 and will ease at 5pm on Thursday April 1. 

Residents in Moreton Bay, Brisbane, Ipswich, Redlands and Logan can only leave their homes to buy essentials, to exercise, to work or study, or to provide care. 

Masks have been made mandatory across Queensland for the first time, with residents to carry one at all times when leaving their home.
