  • A car and boat parked nearby were also destroyed with the shed in the fire 


A body has been found in the ruins of a shed destroyed by fire on a southeast Queensland property.

Emergency services rushed to the blaze in the demountable shed in Pacific Haven, near Hervey Bay at around 1.35am on Friday.

Police found the body inside the shed, which a 50-year-old man has been living in.

That man is still missing, but detectives say the human remains are too badly burnt to be immediately identified.

‘Scientific examination and detailed forensic analysis, over coming days and weeks, will be required to confirm identity,’ police said in a statement.

A car and a boat near the shed were also destroyed in the fire with investigators still trying to determine its cause. 

Police have called for anyone who was in the Pacific Haven area at the time of the fire and noticed anything suspicious to contact them.
