An Ohio mother who allegedly murdered her six-year-old son by running him over with her minivan has now been accused of hog-tying the boy and his two siblings for hours on the day before his death, new court records reveal.
Brittany Gosney, 29, had taken son James Hutchinson and his two elder siblings, aged 9 and 7, to Rush Run Park in Preble County, allegedly with the intention to leave them there.
But when she tried to drive away, James grabbed onto the car and was killed after allegedly being dragged along and run over. She allegedly dumped his body in the Ohio River a day later.
Now, new court filings allege that Gosney had kept James and his siblings bound by their hands and feet with cloths in their mouths on the day before or the day of the boy’s killing.
The purpose was to ‘terrorize and/or inflict serious harm’ to the children, prosecutors allege.

Her boyfriend James Hamilton, 43, who is alleged to have encouraged Gosney to abandon her children, is accused of helping her tie a concrete block to the boy’s body and dumping it in the Ohio River near Lawrenceburg, Indiana, the following day.
Divers started looking for his body a week later using sonar equipment, but officials have not yet announced the recovery of a body.
The latest court filings revealed the couple are also accused of trying to cover up their crimes by removing a hard drive from cameras at the house, as well as tape and rope from another location.
Middletown police have said that James was killed while attempting to climb back in his mother’s minivan when she drove off. The boy was said to have grabbed onto the minivan’s bumper or door, and ended up being run over and killed.
Police say Gosney returned to the park 30 to 40 minutes later and found James lying in the middle of the parking lot with injuries to his head. She said the child had died.
Gosney then allegedly placed his body in her car, drove to the family’s home in Middletown and stored the remains in an upstairs bedroom.
