Mynah birds are members of the starling family and live in southern Asia, especially in India, Bangladesh and Pakistan.

Birds raised by hand make excellent pets and are believed to be able to learn up to 100 words.

Owners can train their birds to repeat certain phrases and follow simple commands.

The best mimics start training before they reach six months.

In the wild mynah birds are considered a pest and have been known to bully other birds – especially native birds in areas they have been introduced.
