My Unorthodox Life star Julia Haart fights back against estranged husband Silvio Scaglia

My Unorthodox Life star Julia Haart is fighting back against her estranged husband’s claims that she ‘illegally’ withdrew $850,000 from their company account.

Haart, 50, filed for divorce last month just hours after Silvio Scaglia, 63, fired her from her position as CEO, co-owner, and chief creative officer of Elite World Group (EWG), a talent media agency he acquired in 2011.

In a new court filing obtained by DailyMail.com, Haart hits back against her ‘wrongful’ termination, claims Scaglia called her the ‘best CEO they had ever had’ multiple times and she asserts she never took a salary from EWG.

She also claims in the documents that she continues to personally pay salaries for select employees as well as division heads and other employees who resign or get fired.

A source tells DailyMail.com that Haart’s main concern is that ‘the company she worked hard to build up does not get sold off to pay Silvio’s debts’.

Julia Haart’s full email to EWG staff

Dear All,

Firstly, I would like to thank the many people on this email and throughout the company who have reached out with support and assistance during the last two weeks. Your loyalty, grace, and dedication to our mission at EWG will be rewarded.

I would like to send my heartfelt apologies that my personal circumstances and divorce from Silvio have so significantly impacted our business –obviously, the rash decisions, false claims, and resulting fallout from the past two weeks were not of my making. Sadly, these tactics have served to undermine our business, impugn our credibility, and deflate the immense progress we achieved. While we have certainly lost ground on the many advances we made together, I am confident with time and dedication we can rise even stronger than before.

As you are likely aware, I plan to vigorously fight for my role in this organization and expunge these demonstrably false allegations which have been thoughtlessly levied in the press. Today my team filed the following action in Delaware (link). Given the substantial evidence provided, we are confident in a swift resolution from the court. I look forward to putting this matter behind us and continuing to build toward the future together. I look forward to seeing you all soon.

Sincerely,

Julia

The new court documents state that Haart turned EWG around for the better.

‘As a result of Haart’s tenure as CEO of EWG, she transformed the business that had a significant downward trajectory valued at less than $90 million when Scaglia was operating EWG to a business worth significantly in excess of $500 million.

‘Scaglia acknowledged in mid 2021 and later to investment bankers when he was trying to take the business public that ”Haart is the CEO and real force behind EWG’s success and stature in the industry.”

‘In 2022, Scaglia stated on numerous occasions that he ‘was in awe of Julia’ and ‘Julia is the best CEO he ever had,’ the filing states.

A source tells DailyMail.com that Haart reached out to the company’s staff in an email to express her feelings about them and the business as a whole.

‘I would like to send my heartfelt apologies that my personal circumstances and divorce from Silvio have so significantly impacted our business –obviously, the rash decisions, false claims, and resulting fallout from the past two weeks were not of my making,’ Haart said in the email to staff.

‘Sadly, these tactics have served to undermine our business, impugn our credibility, and deflate the immense progress we achieved. While we have certainly lost ground on the many advances we made together, I am confident with time and dedication we can rise even stronger than before,’ she added.

The couple’s divorce has been anything but amicable.

Haart filed a temporary restraining order last month against her tech entrepreneur husband, whom she claimed engaged in ‘bullying behavior’ against her during their marriage.

‘He has become increasingly volatile, abusive, and unhinged over the past several weeks,’ she claimed in the restraining order documents.

Scaglia accused Haart of ‘illegally’ withdrawing $850K from the company account, and she’s accused him of ‘withdrawing millions to invest in SHS Asset Management and funding his lavish lifestyle.’

The Moscow-born New Yorker claimed the Swiss-born, Italian-raised businessman engaged in ‘egregious, bullying, unauthorized conduct’ for ‘wrongfully terminating her, blocking access to the EWG office, cutting off her corporate credit cards, shutting off phone service to their marital home and terminating her assistants.’

‘We are not going to respond to the multiple falsehoods and baseless personal smears in Ms. Haart’s Delaware lawsuit except to put faith in the court to determine the facts and the law,’ Silvio’s attorneys told People.

‘We will note, however, that it seems Ms. Haart has not taken the time to read the company’s governing documents as to who owns the stock that controls the company.’

Meanwhile, Julia’s lawyer Marty Singer pointed out how the valuation of EWG has ‘increased over five times fromo $90M to $500M since she took over operations.’

Haart originally met Scaglia in 2016 while working as creative director of luxury lingerie line La Perla, which he had acquired in 2013.

The Fastweb founder has three adult children from his marriage to Monica Aschei, which ended in 2018.

The +Body by Julia Haart co-founder has four children – Batsheva, 28, Miriam, 21, Shlomo, 26, and Aron, 15 – from her 23-year marriage to Yosef Hendler, which ended in 2014.

On February 2, Julia announced that filming had commenced for season two of her Netflix reality series, which will no doubt detail the divorce.

Haart – who left her ultra-Orthodox Haredi community in 2013 – will release her 416-page memoir Brazen: My Unorthodox Journey from Long Sleeves to Lingerie on April 12.
