Two real estate agents have poked fun at the terms they use to sell a house such as ‘gorgeous suburb’ and ‘convenient for work’.
Create Real Estate in Sunshine in Melbourne’s west mocked the classic selling points in TikTok videos titled ‘what real estate agents say versus what they really mean’.
In one clip, an agent holding a laptop was filmed sitting on a ledge in a crawl space under the stairs to show what agents mean when they say ‘the home office is super convenient’.

‘I mean there is a crawl space under the stairs where you could put your laptop, I guess,’ the agent said.
In another video, the pair say prospective buyers should translate the term ‘gorgeous suburb’ to mean ‘a dump’ when they see it in a property advert.
To illustrate what the term ‘excellent public transport’ means, one of the agents comically pushed the other around in a shopping trolley.
‘Super close to the city’ meanwhile is a translation for ‘it’s an hour away’, the agents said.
The duo also warned buyers to be hesitant about agents selling empty blocks of land as ‘big developments’ and ‘big investments’.

Commenters clearly related to the advice, with some even suggesting their own misleading real estate terms.
‘Please stop letting our secrets out,’ one estate agent in the comment section under the video joked.
‘Renovator’s paradise = a lot of work,’ he added as his own misleading term.
Another commenter said the crawl space wasn’t so bad as they could ‘feel like Harry Potter’ when they were working.
