He twice tried to grasp the gun while she was looking away at a mobile device, prompting her to slap his hand down and give him a stern warning.

The man first told her he was going to ‘close the door’ before hovering his hand over her equipment belt.

‘F**k,’ she said when she realised how close he was to grabbing her pistol.

‘Don’t touch.’

Viewers on the social media platform were impressed by the officer’s calm and composed reaction to the man’s reckless behaviour.

‘In the USA, he would have been ten feet in the ground,’ one commenter wrote – referencing a series of fatal police shootings in the US in recent months.

‘If “playing with my life” was a video,’ another said.

‘How did he get away with that?’ one asked.

Others suggested the man was only messing around as he never made a direct attempt to take the gun.

‘He didn’t want to grab it – he was playing,’ one said.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Victoria Police for comment.
