Man is charged after allegedly touching a baby and pinching a toddler in a series of assaults at shopping centres across Sydney

  • The 33-year-old man is accused of grasping a 21-year-old woman’s buttocks
  • He then allegedly touched a baby in a pram before going into a bathroom 
  • Upon leaving the bathroom, he tried to touch a woman, 32, on the shoulder 

A man who allegedly touched a baby, pinched a two-year-old repeatedly and grabbed a young woman on the bottom has been charged.

The 33-year-old from Coogee, in Sydney’s eastern suburbs, is accused of grasping a 21-year-old’s buttocks at about 10.40am on Wednesday at Westfield Bondi Junction. 

He then allegedly approached a woman pushing a pram and touched her baby, before going into a bathroom.

Upon leaving the bathroom, the man allegedly tried to touch a 32-year-old woman on the shoulder.

At 3.10pm on George Street in the CBD, he allegedly approached a woman pushing a two-year-old boy and pinched him multiple times on the leg.

A member of the public tried to intervene but he fled the scene.

Police were called and later arrested the man at Broadway shopping centre in Ultimo.

He was charged with sexual touching without consent, three counts of common assault, trespass and breach of bail.

The man was refused bail to appear at Central Local Court on Thursday.
