Two 13-year-old girls are chased down an empty street after leaving the cinema – before cops found a man hiding in a creek

  • He was arrested and charged while the two girls escaped the saga unharmed

A man was found hiding in a creek after allegedly chasing two teenage girls down a street as they left a cinema. 

The two 13-year-olds had left the movie theatre around 9pm on Sunday in Shellharbour on New South Wales’ South Coast, when they noticed a man walking behind them.

The young girls then attempted to hide before the 37-year-old allegedly approached them and tried to start a conversation.

The two teens then allegedly starting running down Old Lake Entrance Road as the man chased them.

The terrifying saga came to an end when the girls ran into a service station to call police.

With the help of a sniffer dog, a short while later officers were able to track down the man who had been hiding in a nearby creek.

Cannabis and bank cards with various names were found on the 37-year-old.

He was arrested and charged with stalking with the intent to cause fear of physical harm and possessing prohibited drugs as well as goods suspected to be stolen.

The man was refused bail and due to appear in court on Monday.

The girls were not harmed or touched during the encounter.
