Man, 26, is charged with murder of married father of two, 49, who died after being run over by a BMW in a M&S car park

A man has been charged with the murder of a married father-of-two who died after being run over in an M&S car park.

Scaffolding boss Matthew Tester, 49, locally known as Tik, was hit by a motorist in Walton-upon-Thames, Surrey. 

A second man, also in his 40s, was seriously injured in the incident but is recovering.

Shaan Mir, from Weybridge, has been charged with murder and attempted murder after being arrested on Thursday, police have confirmed.

He is due to appear at Guildford Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.

Mr Tester died at the scene after officers were called to reports of an incident on Church Road on Thursday.  

Detective Chief Inspector David Springett, who is leading the investigation, said: ‘This is an extremely difficult time for Tik’s family and I would ask that their privacy is respected to allow them to grieve in peace.’
