A bizarre luxury home that’s completely colourless inside except for bright red cushions has gone on sale for half a million pounds.

The four-bedroom converted semi in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear is decorated in white in every room of the house, with more TV sets on the walls than pictures.

The only splash of colour comes in the form of red cushions on sofas in a couple of rooms – and one of the toilets which looks like the type fitted in prison cells.

And to round things off the video of the extraordinary house is accompanied by the stirring strains of Carl Orff’s famous ‘O Fortuna’ from Carmina Burana.

Comments so far include references to the sci-fi film ‘2001 Space Odyssey’, a prison cell, a morgue and the home of a serial killer.
