He’s worth a reported $6.6 billion and is going through a high profile divorce from Kim Kardashian.

And now Kanye West is telling his story on his own terms in a new documentary said to have been 21 years in the making.

On Tuesday, Billboard.com reported that Netflix has spent upwards of $30 million to acquire the feature being put together by Ye collaborators Clarence ‘Coodie’ Simmons and Chike Ozah.

According to Billboard, Simmons has been filming Kanye since the late 1990s.

The never-before-seen footage includes the early years of the rapper’s career in Chicago, the death of his mother Donda West, his foray into the fashion industry and his 2020 presidential run.

It’s not known if it will also include details of his highly-publicized mental health breakdown in 2016 that led him to be hospitalized in Los Angeles. 

Simmons and Ozah worked with Kanye on his Through The Wire video released in 2003 and on the third version of Jesus Walks.

A source told Billboard that the Life Of Pablo artist has given the duo his blessing for the project which the pair will produce in conjunction with TIME Studios.

The as-yet untitled documentary is slated to stream on Netflix later this year. 

Meanwhile, West’s former bodyguard Steve Stanulis is also said to be shopping around a documentary about the rapper and is reportedly ‘still in discussions with multiple platforms.’

Last month, Bloomberg calculated 43-year-old Kanye’s wealth as about $6.6 billion, based primarily on his hugely successful Yeezy brand that’s reputed to be worth between $3.2 billion and $4.7 billion.

His sneaker and clothing lines have benefited from lucrative partnership deals with Adidas AG and Gap Inc., with his Gap apparel collection set to debut this summer.

The recording artist also has $122 million in cash and stock, according to Bloomberg’s March reporting, and his music catalogue is valued at $110 million.

He also has $17 billion in other assets including a substantial interest in estranged wife Kim’s Skims shapewear line.

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star filed for divorce from Kanye in February after seven years of marriage.

She is said to have worked on a settlement of shared assets before formally filing and, according to UsWeekly, the ex couple are reported to be in agreement over sharing custody of their four children, North, seven, Saint, five, Chicago, three, and  Psalm, who turns two next month.

Kim, 40, also officially joined the billionaires club on Tuesday when Forbes included her on its World’s Billionaire List.

The outlet credited her increased wealth to the success of her KKW Beauty and Skims brands.

She also has lucrative endorsement deals and other investments and made $200million in a deal to sell 20 percent of KKW Beauty to Coty last year. 

Forbes previously declared Kim’s younger half-sister Kylie Jenner to be a billionaire when she offloaded 51 percent of her beauty company Kylie Cosmetics to Coty.
