The former Speaker told LBC’s Tom Swarbrick that Boris Johnson does not treat the House of Commons with respect. Mr Bercow and the Prime Minister clashed on multiple occasions in Parliament before Sir Lindsay Hoyle replaced him.
Mr Swarbrick said: “Do you think Boris Johnson as Prime Minister treats the House of Commons and Parliament with respect?
“Did you find that when you were Speaker in the chair during his early days as Prime Minister?”
Mr Bercow replied: “No is the short answer to that.”
