Jetstar launch a flash sale with flights as low as $69 to celebrate a new service linking Far North Queensland and NSW
- Jetstar will provide direct flights between Cairns and Newcastle from June
- A 12 hour-flash sale launches at midday today with fares starting from $69
- Flights will operate Monday, Wednesday and Saturday in under two months
Holidaymakers can pick up dirt cheap domestic flights on a new Jetstar route between NSW and Far North Queensland.
Jetstar will fly between Cairns and Newcastle three times a week and expects to carry 6,000 travelers each month starting from June 23.
The airline will launch a flash sale at 12pm on Thursday to promote the new route, with fares starting at $69.

‘The demand for leisure travel in Australia continues to be really strong, and Jetstar is in a great position to be able to add more flights to connect even more destinations across the country,’ Jetstar chief executive Gareth Evans said.
Newcastle Airport chief executive Peter Cook said the flight gave the city optimism after a tough year for travel during the coronavirus pandemic.
‘There was already strong local demand for travel from our region to North Queensland, but with direct connections we expect significant growth in passenger numbers,’ he said.
The new two hours and 45 minutes flights will operate Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday.
