A woman has captured incredible photos showing a large snake slithering up her staircase and towards her front door.
Hannah Hearne, found the python twisted around the bars of her stairs near her home in Groote Eylandt – an island located 50km from the Northern Territory.
Ms Hearne shined a torch on the two-metre reptile as it moved across the staircase and tried to slither up the property.

The snake looked directly at the homeowner as it moved down the railing and along the steps.
Others were left shocked by the images posted to Facebook on Wednesday.
‘I wouldn’t have been made it up the stairs for the last photo,’ one woman wrote.
‘Just keep the cats and dogs away or they can be dinner,’ another said.
‘I’m actually never going outside again’, a third wrote.
