Woolworths replied to the post by apologising and offering Mr Key a refund.

‘Hey Art, we’re so sorry to see the profiteroles you’ve purchased from the Brookside store were frozen,’ Woolworths replied.

‘We know you don’t wish to drive to the store for a refund and replace and if you take your product packaging or receipt on your next visit you can receive this at that time.

‘We’ve shared your feedback with our Product Team so they can look into it further.’

Mr Key then reiterated that he simply wanted the fresh produce to be just that.

‘When we buy fresh produce from your store, especially from the bakery, we expect freshly baked products. That’s all we want,’ he wrote.

One member of the public said he could have put the profiteroles in the microwave to quickly defrost them.

‘A few seconds in the microwave would have solved the problem,’ one wrote.
